A passion for history and languages led to Sophie completing an MPhil at the University of Cambridge where she was awarded the Kate Bertram Prize for graduating with Distinction.

While working on her debut novel, Sophie worked as a bookseller at her local independent bookshop until its closure.

She is currently working on her next novel, but if she’s not writing you can find her reading, dabbling in a new language or on the verge of falling down another rabbit hole of research.
